An Architect’s Holiday House in Hydra, Greece.

Theodore Zouboulakis, a member of a well-known Athens art-dealing family, designed his own holiday retreat on the island of Hydra, merging traditional Greek architecture with industrial elements (think: stucco meets steel). Zoumboulakis studied architecture at the National Technical University of Athens and received a masters of architecture at UCLA; he works with Hermes in Paris and has also designed all the spaces for the Zoumboulakis Galleries. The interior is a perfect balance of modern and traditional. A great combination of materials, techniques and architectures are composing a unique house faith to its roots but with a contemporary flair.
