Theodore Zouboulakis, a member of a well-known Athens art-dealing family, designed his own holiday retreat on the island of Hydra, merging traditional Greek architecture with industrial elements (think: stucco meets steel). Zoumboulakis studied architecture at the National Technical University of Athens and received a masters of architecture at UCLA; he works with Hermes in Paris and has also designed all the spaces for the Zoumboulakis Galleries. The waterfront and the patio of the house, in full contact with the nature and the sea.
The interior is a perfect balance of modern and traditional. A great combination of materials, techniques and architectures are composing a unique house faith to its roots but with a contemporary flair.
